Sinaia

Sinaia is a city in Romania, located at the foot of the Bucegi mountains, known mainly for its tourist importance.

Sinaia is located in Prahova county, about 60 km northwest of Ploiesti and 50 km south of Brasov.

Located in a mountainous area on the Prahova river valley, the altitude of the city varies between 767 m and 1,055 m. Sinaia has the status of a tourist and balneo-climatic resort.

Sinaia is one of the most important holiday resorts in the country, providing the best conditions for spending free time and for treatment, in all seasons of the year, for people of all ages.

It has a subalpine climate, with cool summers and not very cold winters for a mountain resort. Here is the Peles Castle, the former summer residence of King Carol I, which is considered one of the most beautiful in Romania and Europe.

Currently, Sinaia is an important tourist center and for holding international and national conferences, there are special facilities for practicing winter sports: the bobsleigh track with a length of 1,500 m, ski slopes of various degrees of difficulty, ski slopes .

Sinaia City Hall organizes every year the “Sinaia Forever” Festival, which has long become a tradition and at the same time the most important event of Sinaia city.

In the perimeter of the city of Sinaia in Bucegi and at the foot of Garbova, there are several natural reserves and natural monuments.

The “Dimitrie Ghica” park in Sinaia was founded in 1881 and houses several centuries-old trees, heritage buildings and the Bucegi Nature Reserve, and inside it, concerts and festivals in Sinaia take place on a stage.
